Caesar Salad

In the summer of 2025, I got into ordering Caesar salad at restaurants whenever I saw it on the menu. In this post, I’ll list, briefly describe, and rate the ones I had. The rating is from 1-4 without 0, so there is no mid-score. Most recent on top. Enjoy!

Fabrik Vösendorf
Ortsstraße 8/10, 2331 Vösendorf– 2026-02-28 – € 16,90
Generally speaking good ratio of romaine lettuce and nicely cooked chicken, but the whole dish was too small for the price. Also, the sauce was a little bit boring. Croutons and large Parmesan flakes were OK.

Topgolf Wien
Wienerstraße 196, 2345 Brunn am Gebirge – 2026–02–12 – € 18,–
Fresh romaine lettuce, but not quite much of it. The sauce was too mild and also not enough. The chicken was a little bit dry and poorly cut. Permesan was also dry. Generally, the portion was too small for that price.

Augenweide

Fresh romaine lettuce nicely cut, but too little of it. The Caesar sauce was fantastic, nice in flavour and texture. Croutons likely bought, so underwhelming. Lots of Permasan chips, but I prefer the fresh ones. Interestingly, there is no chicken option, only steak cuts. Ordered two of them, those were very good, but to be honest, they don't combine too well with the rest. Bacon was ok.

Iceberg lettuce with no extras but lots of that. The sauce was one of the best I had, great umami and texture. Lots of nicely grilled chicken, but slightly cut to too small pieces. Unfortunately, the croutons were underwhelming and the parmesan was too finely ground, so it even melted on the warm chicken.

Hotel Restaurant Höldrichsmühle
Gaadner Str. 34, 2371 Hinterbrühl – 2025-11-06 – € 15,90 + € 4
Ordered with extra chicken, so plenty of that and also nicely seasoned and cooked. Romain lettuce, but a little bit too little, and also cherry tomatoes. The sauce was good, but too mild for my taste. A very small amount of store-bought croutons. Ok amount of roughly ground parmesan.

Twenty Two Dresden
Wilsdruffer Str. 22, 01067 Dresden – 2025-10-24– € 15,90
Large portion. Romaine lettuce, but also with red parts and cherry tomatoes. Tasty mild sauce, maybe a bit too mild. I think the croutons were not self-made. A good amount of chicken and juicy, but the crust could be crisper. A good amount of roughly ground parmesan.

Restaurace Nový Svit

OK sized portion with iceberg lettuce. The sauce was very anchovy-heavy. A good amount of juicy and crisp chicken. Croutons were ok and parmesan too.

Ponykarussell
Prater, Karl-Kolarik-Weg 86A, 1020 Vienna – 2025-10-05 – € 17,90
Large portion with romaine lettuce. The sauce tasted very good, though a bit watery. Croutons are a bit too seasoned, but crisp and warm. Chicken was on point. Pancetta was ok, but I would've preferred it without. Almost a bit too much parmesan and too well grated.

Quite a small portion, iceberg lettuce instead of romaine lettuce. Sauce underwhelming, croutons cold and too crisp. Chicken & Parmesan was ok.
